Journeyman Classes
 The
Training Center provides continuing education classes, in keeping with the terms of the
labor agreement. Specifics of the painter upgrade program and journeyman continuing
education are determined by the Painter's Union Management Partnership (PUMP) committee,
which meets monthly at District Council #5.
The contract year runs from April 1 thru March 31. Emphasis is placed on safety training. Click

Most classes are held at the Regional Training Center (RTC) located at 12687 NE Whitaker
Way, Portland OR 97230. Some classes are offered in the Salem and Eugene areas.
To Register for Classes
Complete the registration
form and submit it to the Training Center at least one day before your first
class. |

| Phone registrations cannot be accepted. |
| Walk-ins are permitted only if space is available.

Credit for Outside Vendor Training
You may be able to receive credit for training obtained elsewhere (through your employer,
at an American Red Cross facility etc). Submit your documentation to the Training Center
and we will forward it to the PUMP committee for approval at its monthly meeting. Credit
is given only for training obtained outside of paid hours.
Respirator Fit Tests
The Training Center conducts respirator training session and fit testing. Follow the
instructions for setting up the
appointments. Note that you must have a medical check first (good for three
years), followed by the training and a fit test at the Training
Center.
